At St. Francis of Assisi Catholic School, we serve students throughout the Memphis area by offering an excellent education in an environment that fits their spiritual and social needs. Our commitment to academic excellence was recognized by the U.S. Department of Education in 2010 when St. Francis was named a Blue Ribbon School of Excellence.
Our Memphis area Catholic school prepares students, ages 2 years–8th grade, to succeed in high school and life. Many of our 8th grade graduates have gone on to be valedictorians and salutatorians at some of Memphis’ most prestigious high schools such as St. Benedict at Auburndale, Christian Brothers, and St. Agnes. Our graduates include a number of National Merit Finalists and National Merit Commended Scholars.
Behind the success stories is an educational approach that emphasizes working collaboratively with others, critical thinking, and developing a lifelong love of learning. Both the sciences and the arts are important at SFA, where we have four science labs, two music rooms, a band room and two art rooms -- not to mention a newly renovated library. St. Francis also offers 1:1 technology in all grades, using Apple iPad minis in grades 3K–3 and MacBook Air Laptops in grades 4-8. We will be installing Apple TV’s in classrooms to enhance our students’ learning experience.
Looking ahead, St. Francis will be the first Catholic elementary school in Memphis to launch Project Lead the Way across all grade levels in the 2018-2019 school year. We are excited to offer PLTW programs to our students, giving them the tools to solve problems and skills for success.
Our educational approach helps students of all learning styles to thrive: Our curriculum challenges traditional and gifted students, while our PLUS Program supports those with learning differences. We want to see all of our students flourish and develop their God-given talents.
St. Francis serves students of all faiths, while helping them to build the habit of daily prayer. Our student body includes over 550 students from 33 zip codes, so your child will have the opportunity to make friends from many different areas in a school dedicated to academic excellence.
