About Me

My name is Kat Vinton, and I am beginning my first year as a teacher, marking my fourth year in the field of education. Previously, I worked as a Kindergarten Assistant at Grace St. Luke’s during the 2022-2023 school year, and the past two school years as a Substitute and Intervention Assistant at Lakeland Preparatory.

I have spent my entire life in Memphis and am a proud product of the Catholic Diocese of Memphis. I attended Holy Rosary through middle school and graduated from St. Benedict in 2018. I later earned my Bachelor’s Degree in English from the University of Memphis in 2022, and I am currently pursuing a Master’s Degree in Teaching English Language Arts for grades 6-12.

Outside of teaching, you’ll often find me coaching volleyball. I began playing at age 10 and continued through my senior year of high school. After high school, I took a break from playing to enjoy the more social side of college life (proud alumni of Alpha Gamma Delta!), but returned to the sport as a coach in 2019. My coaching journey has included positions at Holy Rosary, Grace-St. Luke’s, and leading the middle school volleyball program at Lakeland Preparatory. In addition to school programs, I have coached competitive volleyball at Memphis Juniors for the past three years. This year, I’m excited to serve as Head Coach of the 14 Elite Gold team, with SFA alum McKinley Hollis joining as my assistant.

I am thrilled to join the Timberwolf family and to give back to the community that has shaped me!
