All About Ms. Byrd

Hi everyone! My name is Jenny Byrd and I am so excited to be starting my first year of teaching at St. Francis. I was born and raised in Memphis, TN, and I’m proud to still call it home today.

Outside of school, I stay busy with the things I love most: spending time with my family and friends, playing with my two sweet dogs Duke and Jay, and enjoying a little thrill at the drag strip. I’m also a big sports fan, so you’ll often find me cheering loudly for my favorite teams, the Memphis Grizzlies and the Memphis Tigers.

Teaching has always been close to my heart because I’ve seen firsthand how much of a difference a caring teacher can make in a child’s life. I chose this career because I want to be that kind of positive influence, someone who encourages, challenges, and celebrates each student. Watching students grow, build confidence, and discover their own strengths is truly the most rewarding part of this journey.

A few fun facts about me are that I love a good cup of coffee in the mornings, I can’t resist a weekend spent outdoors when the weather is nice, and I believe that laughter is one of the best parts of every day. My personal motto is simple but powerful: “Be the reason someone smiles today.”

I am so grateful for the opportunity to teach and learn alongside my students this year and I can’t wait to see all the wonderful memories we’ll make together.
