St. Francis of Assisi Catholic School offers students, ages 2 years – 8th grade, a traditional Catholic education in an environment that welcomes students from all faiths, helping them grow spiritually while they achieve academic success.
St. Francis of Assisi Catholic School has seen many of our 8th grade graduates go on to become valedictorians and salutatorians at prestigious Memphis high schools such as St. Benedict at Auburndale, St. Agnes Academy, and Christian Brothers, as well as being recognized as National Merit Finalists and National Merit Commended Scholars.
Over 550 students from 33 different zip codes in the greater Memphis area make up our student body. We help each child learn to collaborate with others and develop critical thinking skills along with their individual God-given talents.
Whatever your child’s learning style may be, they will be both challenged and supported at St. Francis: We offer intellectually stimulating classes for traditional and gifted children and our PLUS program supports students with learning differences. Our commitment to academic excellence was recognized by the U.S. Department of Education in 2010 when St. Francis was named a Blue Ribbon School of Excellence.
Our school successfully blends a traditional Catholic approach to education with the latest technology: 41 of our classrooms are SmartBoard classrooms, and students have 1:1 access to iPad Minis in grades 3K-3 and MacBook Air laptops in grades 4-8. We will be installing Apple TV’s in classrooms to enhance our students’ learning experience.
Looking ahead, St. Francis will be the first Catholic elementary school to launch Project Lead the Way across all grade levels in the 2018-2019 school year. We are excited to offer PLTW programs to our students, giving them the tools to solve problems and skills for success.
St. Francis has a STEM lab as well as a newly renovated library, two art rooms, a band room and two music rooms. St. Francis boasts 30 academic clubs and 66 athletic teams that help our students explore their interests.
