6th and 7th Grade Social Studies and 6th Grade Literature

A native Memphian, I graduated from St. Mary’s Episcopal School in 1998, and then attended Christian Brothers University where I graduated in 2002, Magna Cum Laude, earning my Bachelor of Arts in History with a minor in French. I returned to Christian Brothers University for the master's program, graduating in 2007 with my Masters of Arts in Teaching and my 4-8 Teaching Certification. I am also an Apple Certified Teacher.

My lifetime love of learning and my inspirations to become a teacher began at St. Mary’s. I have always had a love of history and literature. I began teaching social studies for 6th grade at St. Francis in 2008 and love teaching 6th grade literature and 7th grade American History as well. My goal is to make history and literature engaging and relevant for the students. My classes incorporate hands-on learning and in-class projects using digital technology and traditional media. I was honored to receive the St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Award for Innovations in the Classroom from the Catholic Diocese of Memphis in 2016.
