I have been teaching for over 18 years, and 13 years of those have been at SFA in various grades and subjects, primarily math, pre-algebra, and English/Language Arts. I am a mother to 2 wonderful girls, who both attend(ed) St. Francis. My school is like my second family and I LOVE teaching here!
I grew up in Wichita, Kansas and I am a product of Catholic schools for 16 (!) years (including elementary, high school, AND college.) I have a Bachelor's Degree (B.A.) from Saint Louis University (in Communications and a minor in Marketing---I like to talk!) and a Master's of Arts (M.A.T.) in Teaching from the University of Memphis.
My students have been VERY involved in extracurricular activities through Math Counts, Memphis Catholic Math Challenge, national and local writing competitions (Wordsmith, The Anne Frank Center USA National Writing Contest, The Elie Wiesel National Writing Competition, The Catholic Textbook History Writing Contest, Memphis in May Creative Writing Contest, etc.)
I was a Pathways to Teaching Scholar for the University of Memphis and I received the Elizabeth Ann Seaton Award for Innovations in the Classroom from the Catholic Diocese of Memphis.
I believe that education is a life-long activity and I strive each and every day to bring that love of learning to all of my students.
