Summer Required Math - 2011
Students entering 1st Grade in the 2011-2012 school year will be required to complete a Math Skills Workbook over the summer. Workbooks will be distributed to students in May. (Students new to St. Francis will be able to pick up their workbooks in late May from the school office.) The workbook is age appropriate and used as a refresher of concepts learned throughout the year. The completed workbook is due the first day of school in August.
Students entering Grades 2-4 will use the internet based IXL Math Program. All students will be required to complete 5(Five) Hours of IXL over the summer by the first day of school. Students new to St. Francis will receive their IXL passwords by the end of May.
Students entering Grades 5–8 will be required to COMPLETE “Chapter Zero” or “Course Readiness” a readiness chapter created in ALEKS based on our curriculum at each grade level. This must be completed by August 10th. Students will receive a test grade based on the percentage of “Chapter Zero” or “Course Readiness” completed. Students new to St. Francis will receive their ALEKS passwords by the end of May.
