 PLUS Program
A completed application and all required documentation and testing must be submitted to St. Francis Admissions Office before a student may be considered for the PLUS program. Because our goal is to provide a successful academic experience that meets each child's individual needs, placement is not always recommended. The PLUS program administrator reviews the testing results to determine the specific needs of a student and whether the PLUS program will best meet those needs.
Some hallmarks of the PLUS program's success include:
- Small class sizes
- Faculty with extensive experience teaching children with learning differences
- Multi-sensory approaches including auditory, visual, and kinesthetic learning
- Differentiated instruction
- Emphasis on organization and study skills
- Challenging grade level curriculum that follows the traditional program
- Opportunity to transition into traditional class settings based on academic progress
- Individual learning plan that builds on student's strengths to instill confidence and academic growth
- Continuation of the PLUS program at St. Benedict at Auburndale High School, adjacent to our campus
