PLUS Program

The PLUS (Positive Learning Utilizing Strategies) program at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic School is offered for students in Grades 2 through 8 with average or above average intelligence who are experiencing difficulties in a traditional educational setting. This program is designed to assist students who have diagnosed learning differences and/or attention deficit hyperactivity disorders by building on their strengths, instilling confidence and providing the appropriate tools and challenges to help them succeed. Students in the PLUS program receive individualized attention from teachers in a smaller classroom environment. The ultimate goal of the PLUS Program is to prepare students to transition into the traditional academic program. Placement tests, as well as records from previous schools and current psychological evaluations, are used to evaluate an applicant and to ensure that the PLUS program will meet the needs of the student.
