St. Francis of Assisi Dining Service

  • Grades 1-8
?Flexibility: Your student has three options to choose: semester meal plan, declining balance card, cash.

Value: The Semester Plan is a great value for the student that eats lunch in the cafeteria daily. This is our most economical plan and saves you when compared with daily cash prices. The Semester Plan offers the students a complete meal: (A) one entrée, (B) two tasty sides, and (C) a drink.

Convenience and Safety All In One: The declining balance card system is easy for your student to use. They can purchase a complete meal or a la carte items. The card eliminates the need to carry cash, while speeding up the lunch line. A Meal Card can be purchased in addition to a Semester Plan for additional items beyond the semester plan.

New This Year For First and Second Grade:
Sodexo in cooperation with St. Francis of Assisi is introducing the complete meal package. This is to help your student get through the line in time to enjoy their meal while encouraging healthier eating. The meal includes everything the 1st or 2nd grader will need a meal, dessert and a drink.

To sign up for the Sodexo meal plan, please complete a form for your student and attach a check. (List student name and grade on check). Make checks payable to Sodexo.

Meal Cards for First through Eight Grades

The “SFA Card” is a declining balance, prepayment, debit card system. This system is convenient and avoids the need for students to carry cash to school each day. Reducing cash during meals speeds up the lunch line allowing your student more time to enjoy their lunch in the cafeteria.

How It Works

All students will be issued a plastic ID card known as the “SFA Card.” Grades 1-5 students cards will be kept in the cafeteria. Grades 6-8 will be responsible for keeping their cards.

Students on the Meal Plan will get their meals and then present their cards to the cashier to be run through the computer. The computer will identify that the student is on the Meal Plan.

The Meal Plan will continue to include one entrée (A), two sides (B), and a drink (C). Money may be added to the semester meal plan for ala carte items. Students using the SFA Card as a debit card will get their meals and then present the cards to a cashier to be run through the computer. The computer will identify the student and deduct the appropriate amount from the card. When the account balance gets to $10.00, the cashier will give the student a reminder to add money to their account.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can students still use cash? Yes, all cashiers will gladly accept cash.

Why should I choose the semester Meal Plan? The semester meal plan is still the best value for students who eat in the cafeteria daily. The overall savings on the Meal Plan versus cash is approximately 10%.

Can my first or second grade student buy ice cream, dessert, or drink? Yes, cash or debit card may be used to purchase items to accompany their lunch from home.

What is the minimum I can prepay on the SFA Card? The minimum to open an account is $50.00. You may add monies in $25.00 increments.

What if my student has a balance on his/her SFA Card at the end of the year? The student’s balance will be transferred to the next year. As the end of the year approaches, the students’ balances will be monitored closely, and they may add monies as needed. If they are eighth graders and have monies on their card it will be refunded.

What if my student loses his/her card? The ID card will be replaced for a $5.00 fee. The fee is required to print and issue a new ID card.
