St. Francis of Assisi Catholic School serves the greater Memphis area, offering a curriculum that combines all the best aspects of a Catholic education for children, ages 2 years – 8th grade, with an emphasis on STEM and the arts.
More than 550 students from 33 zip codes make up our student body, and many of our 8th grade graduates have gone on to graduate with honors from some of the area’s best high schools such as St. Benedict at Auburndale, St. Agnes Academy and Christian Brothers.
Every type of student can thrive at St. Francis: We offer challenging classes for gifted and traditional students, while our PLUS Program supports students with learning differences. Whatever your child’s learning style happens to be, our curriculum encourages the development of critical thinking skills and collaboration with others. Our commitment to academic excellence was recognized by the U.S. Department of Education in 2010 when St. Francis was named a Blue Ribbon School of Excellence.
With art rooms, music rooms, a band room, STEM labs and a newly renovated library, our school places an emphasis on the arts and sciences as well as on academics. Our students have 1:1 access to technology, such as MacBook Air laptops in grades 4-8 and iPad Minis in 3K-3. We will be installing Apple TV’s in classrooms to enhance our students’ learning experience.
Looking ahead, St. Francis will be the first Catholic elementary school in Memphis to launch Project Lead the Way across all grade levels in the 2018-2019 school year. We are excited to offer PLTW programs to our students, giving them the tools to solve problems and skills for success.
We also nurture a wide range of our students’ interests, with 30 academic clubs and 66 athletic teams to help kids explore and develop their God-given interests and gifts.
